This journal is friends-mostly! I make a lot of friends-only posts both general and to different filters, but some of my posts (fursuit- or art-related, non-personal subjects, commission discussion, polls, etc) are still public.

Also, NOSTALGIA. I miss the old Poke'mon shows. The GOOD ones. Are there any websites that have a bunch of the old episodes for free? Road Rovers or other good old shows, too. I decided today is dedicated to watching my old favorites while I draw. :D

Since a few of my friends have started posting this, I guess I will too. I stole a few of these from Kalika since I'm kinda of absent-minded at the moment. I mind edit this later when I'm more...myself.

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but can anyone help me understand what surrealism is? I've studied it but it was two years ago and I remember a little bit but not much (just the melting clocks picture lol). Examples would especially help, since I've tried looking it up in Google but all I get are confusing descriptions.

I need to know because I decided to do another Neopets contest while I'm waiting for FA to come back up (I can't finish any of the art I owe til then...I need refs) and one of them is surrealism-themed. o:

I've created a separate account for the project, per popular request (I'm surprised so many people are interested!), as well as updated the info a bit. We should have an icon soon, as well. :D

WH00T. I'll be drawing up a new pic as an example soon, but that old one of mine will have to work for now.

A lot of people (myself included, sometimes) complain about how much girlhate there is on FA (ie, comments on pictures of women saying things like "eww girls" or "gross, this would look better male"), but no one has done anything to change that so far. Being who am and hating complaining but doing nothing about it, I finally am. I'm starting a just-for-fun project for people like me to want to see more art of women on FA!

What do you have to do? Not much. If you're a girl, draw yourself as an artistic nude (if you don't draw nudity you can exclude the mature bits). If you're male, draw yourself as a girl (or draw one of your female characters). If you don't draw at all, ask a friend to do it for you (or if you have the cash, commission someone). You can see one I've done here. All skill levels are welcome, obviously, and spread the word!!

What will this do? Probably nothing at all, but atleast you're doing something instead of just complaining! ;) And if you link me when you finish the picture I'll link to it in my journal here (it must be a new pic...don't just link me to something you did a week ago). If nothing else...hey, free art pimpage. :P

So yeah. My first horse, and I'm pretty dang happy with how he turned out. :O I didn't ever post the concept art, but holy crap I matched it EXACTLY and it makes me happy. The eyes are also a huge improvement since Don used the dremel to get a nice clean circle for the pupils. The only self-crit I have is the ears and Pony is gonna let me tear those off and re-do them (first time working with short-pile fur and it was HELL so I'm trying something different with the ears next time...yay for local commissioners!). You live you learn. That's why I decided to stop doing commissions online and stick with cheaper ones for friends...to help me improve more and get, style-wise, where I WANT to be. It's a nice feeling knowing I'm almost there. :D

As a side note, if you decided to give crits please don't mention eyelids or the ears (since I said I was gonna fix those already lol). Thanks.

I hate being alone in the house because I always see/hear things. I was just looking down at the computer screen and saw something at the edge of my vision that looked like someone was standing there in front of me. It scared the living shit of me. :C

The Groundbreaking went great (though I have a headache now, as always after I go fursuiting) and it was a smaller event than we thought but not bad at all. Elizabeth said she'd eMail me any photos that were taken, so I may have some for you after all. :D

Also, got the fursuit head (I named her "Scorn" :D) in the mail today, and here is my review of it:

PROS:
--nice facial structure
--my exact head size, so the jaw moves AMAZINGLY
--gorgeous eyes
--nice design, therefore easy to play as a character
--got here in two days

CONS:
--bright-colored foamie tongue (I'll be replacing it)
--there are a few spots where I need to re-glue the fur because you can see whatever is underneath
--mesh and foam construction (though there's foam inside as well so it's not uncomfortable)
--there is pretty much no neck

All in all, it's nice looking and will work great for renaissance festivals and such. :D Not bad at all, and considering she only charged me 50 bucks I don't mind having to fix a few things. It's a neat head. On that note, anyone wanna do a badge trade? I'd LOVE a neat badge of her. 8D

I totally forgot to pimp this here. SlapHappyBunny and I did a collab over a year ago and now it's up for sale. The foam work and eyes are mine (oh, god, old ugly work :C) and the furring and everything else is hers. Yup. And it's ending in 11 hrs with no bids yet, so it'd b going cheapish.

(No crits because this is OLD, and half of it isn't mine. kthnx.)

Also, Don and I talked last night and decided to not really do gifts for Christmas because that way we can avoid disappointment and just spend Christmas together (I'm still gonna get him something small, but this way we don't have to worry about getting eachother something big). We're going to rent a tent from base and camp out in our sleeping bags in front of the DVD player in our living room and watch Christmas movies. It'll be romantic. :D We also might go somewhere, but going /anywhere/ on Christmas is hell. >_>;

For New Years we'll be visiting his family again in Louisiana (where I will proceed to not sleep all weekend :C). God...I can't believe it's really been a year since we last went. Have I really been dating Don that long? Wow.

In other news, sapphire_kun made me this AWESOME badge yesterday. :D It's fun seeing less adorablehappycutesy art of Pen since if she really /is/ based on me then she's pretty sarcastic and snarky. :P

I don't post a whole lot right now, so...uhm...random things.

I'm really happy right now. I've got a lot on my mind, but oddly they're mostly happy things. I have a boyfriend that loves and supports me even though I'm having gender issues. Not a lot of people are commissioning me right now but I'm really happy with my art (homg). I have my first REAL fursuit volunteer event this weekend. I'll be getting my Driver's License next weekend (I know, I know...about time). I MAY have sold Tibby to a good friend (she's getting back to me about that today), and if that goes well I'M COMMISSION ME AND ANDY SUIT, DAMMIT.

And marbled_genet deserves lots of worshiping. ;) We did a badge trade, and she made me THE COOLEST BADGE EVAR (yeah, I know, I say that a lot...I love art! :P).But yeah...she's awesome and I can't wait to wear that at Furry Fiesta along with my Sapphire badges. <3 -badge whore-

OH and Don was amazing and went and bought me two giant Hershey's chocolate bars last night, without me even asking, just because I said I'd been yearning chocolate all day. xD I love that boy. We also got the new Mario Bros game for the Wii, and it's really hard so I'll probably be playing that a lot today trying to get used to the controls. :3

But yea. This dog is pretty happy right now. :)

If I sold Tibby (pics, for those of you who haven't seen her: http://pics.livejournal.com/merle_dog/gallery/0001pyzy) once she's finally a fullsuit, would anyone be interested in buying her? I feel terrible for never wearing her but I just can't get into the character so she has only been worn a few times since I commissioned her. I enjoy wearing toony suits a lot more. :c So she's practically new (the head/hands/tail have been worn a few times, the bodysuit and feet will be completely new); the only damage to her is a small crack in the eyes due to the heat, but it's barely visible.

I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna sell her, but I've been considering it for a few months now and I thought I'd ask here if anyone would be interested (and make an offer) before I decide. I AM NOT getting rid of the character. I just can't wear this suit because she doesn't feel like Tibby, to me, due to being realistic when I've always drawn the character toony so I'm making a new, toony version myself to closer fit how I always draw her. :D (And on that note, I'd ask you to give the suit a different name. x3)

I've been in the mood to make another one for a while, so I finally did. xD Enjoy.

Elizabeth called me today about the groundbreaking this Saturday, so I have a few updated detailed. We're meeting there at 12:30 (half an hour before it starts) so we can suit up and be ready, and there is a bathroom at the restaurant there for us to suit up in.

Moxie, James, and Angie: I need to know if you guys will be coming or not. :) If you are, let me know what suit you'll be wearing; I'll be making makeshift photo badges for us so people know what name to call us and our species.

It has probably been a month, but it doesn't feel like that long. Especially with you by my side for 18 years. You were my best, and first, friend. I'll always love you, wherever you are. These tears are for you, Minnie. I miss you.

Firstly, this kick-ass icon from quaylak, drawn for me in exchange for two of my emote-icons. I loooove it. Perfect for those "THIS!" posts on LJ. She's taking commissions for these so you should go buy one from her because I KNOW you need one! ;)

Second, this BEAUTIFUL picture done for me by colonelinfrared of Don and I (myself as Andy, he as Celia (his female 'sona)). <3 I love it SO much, and Don loves it too. He actually asked me to make an icon out of it for him to use, which is a first. xD I also might be getting it put on a custom mouse-pad for him as part of his Christmas gift because he REALLY needs a real mouse-pad and he said he likes the idea (which made me smile). :3

Lastly, this. I wasn't gonna buy it, but it was only 60 bucks including shipping and I had a bit of extra cash saved for emergencies or "I'm really depressed so I wanna buy something to cheer myself up" moments (What? We've all had them. :P) so I couldn't resist. I paid, and Mushi will be sending it out ASAP. Happy early Christmas to me. :P I won't be buying much for a while (partially since the next things I buy will be Christmas gifts for Don).

Butanyway. As synchra pointed out this head is very different from anything else I have, which is really odd since I've always loved creepy and "otherworldly" looking characters...I just never draw them (people demand the cute! :P). Since Mushi will be remaking the suit eventually and re-using the name I told her I'd change the name of this one (I wanted to, anyway), so I named her Scorn. :) I already doodled a few pics of her and decided on an entire personality and part of a story.

The idea is that she's seer living in the 'olden days'. She's neither good nor bad, she just works for whoever happens to be filling her wallet (so to speak) at the time. She sort of reflects that grumpy "I-don't-really-like-most-people" personality, and she'll be a lot of fun to wear since I'll get to act creepy haha. Outfit-wise I'll be having Don make me a new pair of close-fitting white handpaws (probably with claws) and just wearing a burgundy (or something like that) hooded cloak and maybe a wooden staff. The last thing I need to decide is whether or not I'll be talking when I wear her or not (I don't know if I cold pull off a creepy voice, but it seems like it'd be weird if she didn't talk lol.)

EXCITEMENT, I HAS IT. :D
